Automatic pin assembly in white goods industry (video)

Pressed parts are always a big challenge in the assembly automation process. In this type of components, the final position of cut-outs/holes can deviate from the nominal by up to 0.3mm. What should be done to ensure that the machine is able to compensate for these deviations flawlessly every time?

Our latest application allows to install plastic positioning pins in the dryer wall automatically. Thanks to the use of vision systems and correction of the robot's position in relation to the holes, the device hits the correct spot every time. The system also includes an original design of a vibrating feeder feeding the pins.

Our machine has made it possible to automate a process that was previously performed manually. The device works according to the cycle time of the wall press and the time of taking and installing one dowel is only 2 seconds.
